- Strategic Environmental Assessment of the Mafra Master Plan, pursuant to Decree-Law no. 232/2007, of June 15. The environmental assessment consisted in determining, describing and assessing the potential significant environmental effects resulting from the implementation of the new plan proposal, which was carried out during the corresponding preparation procedure and before such procedure was approved or submitted to a legislative procedure. The environmental assessment process was carried out to ensure that the environmental consequences of the plan, analysed in its different strategic options, are determined at an early stage and thus included into the development of the plan.
The environmental assessment of the Mafra Master Plan included the preparation of the following documents: Report determining and describing the scope of work (Critical Factors Report); Final report showing methodological aspects and conclusions related to the environmental assessment process (Environmental Report); Report analysing opinions and other contributions received within the scope of the public consultation (Public Consultation Report); A summary document describing how the environmental considerations and the results of the consultations carried out were weighted and included into the Mafra Master Plan (Environmental Statement).
