Sewerage System, Waste Water Treatment and Expansion of Existing Water Supply Network of Sumbe Town

Sumbe currently has about 290 000 inhabitants and 400 000 at the design year (2040). The expansion and densification of the existing Water Supply network will allow an additional service to 50 000 hab and the new Sewerage system will involve about 60 000 inhabitants of the urban central area of the city . The Treatment Plant is a conventional secondary treatment by activated sludge with extended aeration and final UV disinfection including four treatment lines for 15 000 inhabitants each. An ESIA for all the project components was developped in parallel. Project financed by the BAfD.

The scope of the assignment is to develop the following parts of Project: Data Collection and Design Criteria Setting, Feasibility Study and Preliminary Engineering Design and Detailed Engineering Design for the Expansion of the existing Water Supply System and for the Wastewater Sewerage and treatment.
